Cooking up a storm for a good cause

By Morgan Dyer

Sticky fingers and shiny cars lined Mooroopna’s Kids Town adventure playground on Saturday for the annual Ribs for Kids charity event.

Both barbecues and car engines were fired up as people feasted their eyes on some of Australia’s finest vehicles, while filling their stomachs on delicious American-style meats from Back in Black BBQ to raise much-needed funds for children’s charity Give Me 5 For Kids.

Little barbecue lovers went head-to-head in a competition, which saw them try their best to create and cook the best meat on a stick.

As children roamed the playground and rode the train, adults had the chance to listen to live music and browse the barbecue-themed market stalls.

Money raised on the day went towards buying new equipment for Goulburn Valley Hospital children’s ward.
