Michael Hill revenue up but US struggles

Michael Hill's H1 revenue $310 million rose 4.7 per cent, but same store sales grew 0.7 per cent.

Jewellery chain Michael Hill International has revealed a mixed trading update with a flat performance in Australia, a sharp fall in the US but rises in New Zealand and Canada.

Group revenue rose 4.7 per cent to $310 million in the six months to December 31, compared to the prior corresponding period.

The crucial same store sales rose 0.7 per cent with a flat performance in Australia and a 10 per cent fall in the US weighing on New Zealand and Canada's 3.4 per cent and 4.8 per cent rises, respectively.
